Born in Liverpool, England, Flattery was a much traveled “military brat.” He
is a philosophy graduate from the University of Wales where he edited his
university’s Arts and Science magazines as well as the student newspaper –
winning a national award.
After graduating, he joined Granada Television as a producer/director trainee
and soon began splitting his career between television (BBC, ITN, Thames TV,
LWT) and journalism -- feature writing for the national “quality” newspapers
including The London Sunday Times, Observer and Daily Telegraph as well as
magazines covering contemporary culture such as Rolling Stone and Time Out. He
also wrote a book - “The History of British Pop Music.”
In 1977, he took a six week assignment to produce music videos in the United
States and has been here ever since. The move to America coincided with the
music video industry boom and Flattery was at its forefront. His client list
reads like an A-Z of the 70s and 80s music superstars including :

(Genesis at Wembley Stadium).
After ACE award winning music specials for HBO and Showtime, Flattery became
