Class room in Block 16, room number B, the second room. There were three classrooms in this hut with access through each other. It was common for classes to file through one's room when teaching. 16B had a door to the outside on the left hand side, 16C had a door at the far end. As all the windows were of frosted glass the light was never very good inside. The room was for Geography and the blackboard was in three roller sections with one section being white to use as a projection screen. This type of board was the finest design for the time. The window frames were rotten and were curtained in a dark green blackout twill fabric. I used to draw the curtains in windy weather to protect pupils because on one September equinox the gale blew in a window and glass fell to the floor!
